A little while ago, we headed down to London for Vogue Festival. We’re huge fans of Vogue here at Toolally – it’s a style staple in the studio and we love tracking new trends through its pages.
While at Vogue Festival, we were lucky enough to get chatting to Tatiana and Nura from Team Vogue. Creative Director Mags was rocking one of our pieces and the Vogue girls loved the bold, geometric design. So business cards were exchanged, champagne glasses were clinked (ok coffee cups) and we spent the rest of the day feeling very fashionable indeed!
A week later we received an email from Lucy Bower, senior fashion assistant to Lucinda Chambers who is Vogue’s Fashion Director. Could we send some 80s-inspired pieces to Vogue HQ for their August cover shoot?
After a bit of excited squealing, we replied – yes, of course!
Our weekend was spent frantically making and creating as we selected our favourite pieces to send over to the team. On the following Monday, we packaged everything up and sent it off with our fingers firmly crossed.
As we came towards the end of June, we wondered if our pieces had made it into the shoot. Then came an email from the team to let us know our jewellery had been shot, and to keep our eyes peeled for the issue to see if any of our images would be included. We spent the next couple of weeks waiting patiently for the mag to land on our doorstep!
Here it is… with Lara Stone modelling, we still can’t believe we’re in such great company. And there’s our name in print, in the pages of the world’s fashion bible.
For a small brand just starting out, it’s a real dream-come-true moment and we couldn’t be prouder. Huge thanks to the team at Vogue for seeing the potential in our creations – maybe we’ll make it onto the cover one day ? 😉
