At Toolally, we are passionate about our heritage, sustainability and quality workmanship and are proud to support other brands that share our values. Here we share some of our favourite British brands.
Did you know that all Toolally jewellery is handmade in England? Our Fashion Collection is made in our own brand studio, based in the picturesque town of Barnoldswick on the Yorkshire Lancashire border. We strive to produce as little waste as possible and off-cuts are grouped by colour and re-used wherever possible. We have recently invested in equipment which allows us to create new and unique sheets of acrylic with the waste which cannot be reused any other way.
Our fine jewellery collection is cast and hand-finished in the Birmingham Jewellery Quarter by skilled artisans who bring Mags’ designs to life. We use recycled 925 sterling silver and 9ct gold as well as gold vermeil. Our gold vermeil is recylcled 925 silver plated in 2 micron of 18ct gold for earrings and 3 micron of 18ct gold for rings ensuring a quality finish and a long life. Every piece is delivered to our studio for the final inspection and polish before sending to our direct customers and stockists.
We manage each process in house, ensuring nothing but the best quality leaves our workshop. Our dedicated local team is passionate about delivering you the best product along with the best service. We offer a 12 month warranty on every piece in both the fashion and fine collections.

5 British brands we love
At Toolally, we are proud to support other British brands who are equally as passionate about their heritage and share our values of slow fashion and quality workmanship.
Here’s our roundup of 5 ‘Made in England’ brands that we love.
The Walker and Walker
A responsibly made UK fashion brand specialising in everyday living and lounge clothing, The Walker and Walker (no relation to Mags) is a small team of four passionate designers and makers, who manufacture everything in their UK studio in Gloucestershire. Their soft cotton lounge sets are responsibly made using high quality, responsibly sourced materials.
At The Walker & Walker, they, like us, aim to keep waste at a minimum. As everything is made to order, they only order the fabrics that are required. They also make use of offcuts and scraps, ensuring nothing gets wasted, so you can purchase with confidence knowing that it’s not negatively impacting the environment.
Youswim have created swimsuits for life, by developing one size swimsuit that fits seven sizes in one. Their goal is to create swimwear that adapts to fit your changing body, but not at the cost of the environment.
Based in London, they are a small, dedicated team. All of their pieces are made in England using local fabric makers and designers. They use eco-friendly packaging, which are fully recyclable, biodegradable and home-compostable. They are also certified Plastic Negative, and for every ounce of plastic used in their swimsuits, they remove twice as much by collecting plastic waste that otherwise would have ended up in nature.
Freya Simonne uses only vintage and secondhand textiles that are already in existence to create beautiful forever pieces of upcycled clothing. Freya’s mission is to show an alternative way of doing fashion that actively gives back to both people and the planet.
After working in the fashion industry for almost 10 years, Freya saw first hand how wasteful it can be, and this is where her passion for using only resources that are already in existence started, and Freya Simonne was born. She aims to inspire positive change and encourage people to reimage the clothing they already own in new ways, resulting in less waste.
Good Squish is a small and independent brand, who carefully source and hand stitch ‘squishes’ aka scrunchies using deadstock fabrics and scraps. Making use of all offcuts, they protect and package each product in fabrics that would have been wasted, and encourage their customers to re-use this fabric so it doesn’t go to waste. They have a range of styles available as well as a made to order service.
Grey Milk is a small team of two based in Manchester. They’re an inclusive brand, covering sizes UK 4 – 32 and also offer a made to measure service for customers requiring a bespoke fit. Established in 2020, Grey Milk started out in a spare bedroom, a passion project that soon became a successful business.
They are an entirely made to order brand, producing only what’s necessary to prevent excess waste or stock that could end up in landfill. Their materials are natural, organic and have traceable origins, ensuring an ethical supply chain. They shop locally for their supplies, use planet-friendly packaging and offer ‘end-of-roll’ sales to use up any access waste.
